The Unique Selling Proposition (USP) of the university is to create an equilibrium society based on
the principles of social justice and the philosophy of liberty, equality and fraternity. Dr. Ambedkar
considered education to be an essential part of all men and women irrespective of their social, economic
and cultural status. All individuals must get at least the minimum education. The aims and objective
of the university is the overall growth of the students and the development of their overall
personality. The primary objective of our university is to cater for the need for education,
research and skill enhancement of the downtrodden society.
The University is having the unique distinction of promoting the education of marginalized sections
giving 50% reservation to SC/ST students in admission in all the academic programmes
The toppers in SC/ST category are conferred with a specific Gold medal in addition to a Gold medal on the basis of overall merit
The University has a dedicated Centre for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy, a School of
Ambedkar Studies, Ambedkar Chair, Dr. Ambedkar Centre for Excellence, Remedial Coaching Academy (RCA)
and Remedial Coaching Programme are also run by the University for the benefit of SC/ST students.
The University is successful in implementing the core values of Ambedkar’s ideology in accelerating
the socio-economic conditions of marginal farmers of the society by means of imparting both tangible
and intangible training/orientation and resource supplementation. The ideology of Ambedkar is
efficiently implemented by the University in terms of propagating value-based education among
the socio-economically downtrodden and the results are impeccable in material form
To propagate the egalitarian thoughts of Dr. Ambedkar, the SC/ST Cell of the University is constituted as
a measure for strengthening the implementation machinery for planning, evaluation and monitoring of the
policies of the Government of India
The reservation of seats for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes in respect of admissions in various courses and
accommodation in Hostels are strictly adhered to. The cell is also instrumental in providing information on fellowships
and other incentives to the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes
The cell is looking after all the welfare issues related to SC/ST community. The Grievance Redressal Committee
looks after all the grievances of the students and staff belonging to the SC/ST community.
The Anti-Discriminating Officer ensures equitable treatment for all the students and staff of
the University. Further, Equal Opportunity Cell also works to ensure equal opportunity for all
including physically handicapped students. The cell maintains the complaint register for the students
and staff. The Cell also maintains the data related to the admission and appointments on the reserved seats
and positions respectively. The cell has also an SC/ST Advisory Committee headed by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor
The cell is also entrusted with the University Aid programme. The University provides financial assistance of
Rs. 2000 and Rs. 3000 for the preparation of the dissertation and thesis of the PG and Ph.D. students respectively
belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe.

The University is providing 50% reservation for SC/ST candidates at the ratio of 2:1 in the admission to
various programmes viz. UG, PG and Ph. D. Moreover, 10% marks relaxation in eligibility criterion for
admission in UG and PG Courses and 5% marks relaxation in Ph. D. programmes are also being provided.
Various welfare schemes and distinctive facilities are provided to the students of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
1. The university in letter and spirit provides 50 percent reservation in admission for downtrodden students as a means to maintain a state of equilibrium.
2. SC/ST /PH students are exempted from payment of tuition fees.
3. All kinds of scholarships/fee reimbursement of Govt of India/UGC of all category students viz. SC/ST/OBC/Minority/PH is scrutinized and facilitated by the University SC/ST Cell.
4. Under the UGC-sponsored Remedial Coaching Programme (RCP), the SC/ST/OBC/Minority students are given free coaching for UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET and Computer Training, Spoken & Communication skill development etc.
5. Financial assistance is being provided to SC/ST students at Post Graduate level and Ph.D. scholars for the preparation of the dissertation and thesis respectively.
6. Separate Gold Medal is being provided to the topper among SC/ST students at UG, PG and M.Phil. programmes to encourage the students of these categories.
7. Students, faculty, and staff belonging to the marginalized group can approach the Cell for the redressal of any grievance(s) regarding academic, administrative or social problems. The Cell makes efforts and takes necessary action to solve its problems.
8. Provision is made the university to provide residential coaching facilities by RCA for the category students to excel and crack competitive examinations.
9. Special provision is made by the University Center of Personality Development through organizing a series of personality development training programmes.
10. As a part of social responsibility, the University has adopted five villages which were completely cut-off from the developmental mainstream. Efforts and developmental initiatives are undertaken by the University for the Overall Development of the underprivileged residents of these villages.
