Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition. It is a physical, mental and spiritual practice or discipline which
originated in ancient India based on an extremely subtle science which focuses on bringing harmony between mind; body; thought and action
Yoga is a science and art of living; also, it is a body of techniques that lead us to consciously connect with ourselves and with life, the experience of yoga. As yoga is an art and science, there is no dogma or belief system attached to it. Yoga tells us to do a certain practice and feel their effect following the practice, e.g. if we breath slowly in a relaxed manner we will slow our heart rate; if we focus the mind we will develop mental peace and deep in sight
In addition to this, Yoga is becoming popular day by day and has become a wave which is sweeping across the globe.
Keeping in view the importance of Yoga, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow had established a Yoga Department in 2020.
The university has started different yoga courses to strengthen the Yoga Education in the country at large, and in the university at particular.
With these courses, the university wants to attract more and more students towards yoga education to better and strengthen society. Through these
courses, the university wants to increase awareness and knowledge about Yoga; improve the research for more advancement in Yoga, and generate learning
pedagogy in Yoga to promote its practices in day-to-day life. Through these courses we introduce yoga as a science of Holistic living and not merely
as yoga postures. During the advance course of yoga, the student is taught the concepts of Yoga for the treatment and prevention of various
