Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, New Delhi has set up the Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE) in Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University by signing the Memorandum of Understanding on 22nd April 2022. Our university is one among the thirty Central Universities in the country where the Ministry has established the DACE. The DACE provides specialized free coaching to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) students for the Civil Services Examination conducted by the UPSC. In order to nourish the aspirants of civil services, the Centre provides best coaching facility to the 100 selected candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) community through Common Entrance Test.

The Centre provides good infrastructure facilities of library, Hi-speed internet, Reading Room to the students for preparing them for most prestigious competitive examination of the country. The DACE has dedicated qualified, professional faculties and resource persons for providing a best coaching to the students through class room teaching, seminars, expert interaction, mock test and interview etc.

Objectives of DACE

  • To provide a quality education and best coaching facility to the students belonging to Schedule Caste and Other Backward Classes (OBC) achieving success in the highly competitive Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC.
  • DACE program is ONLY for the Scheduled Caste and Other Backward Classes (OBC) Students to offer them ‘Free Coaching’ for the Civil Services Examinations conducted by UPSC/State Public Service Commission.
  • To train the aspirant civil servants for becoming a successful administrators who can provide good governance in the country.
  • To nourish good candidates for becoming a civil servants who can upload the virtues of liberty, equality, justice and fraternity:
  • Instill the values of honesty, commitment and social justice in the enrolled students: and inculcate the culture of serving the nation and the community in them
  • Eligibility Criteria for Students and Selection Procedure for the Free Coaching

  • In order to be considered for admission into the centre for desired subject, candidates must have achieved the required minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination.
  • The Scheme is open to Schedule Caste and Other Backward Classes students. University shall obtain verify requisite caste certificate from the concerned candidate/student/issued by the competent authorities in his/ her respective States/UTs or as the case may be
  • The coaching benefits under the scheme may only be utilized by a student ONCE regardless of the number of changes that he/she may be entitled to in a particular Competitive Examination. The student must submit to the University an affidavit stating that he/she has not received any monetary benefit from any of the other scheme by Government of India, State/UTs or any funding agency.
  • Out of 100 sanctioned seats, 70% of seats are reserved for SC and 30% of seats are reserved for Other Backward classes (OBC) Students. As per directions from the ministry 33% of seats in each category shall be filled by eligible female candidates.
  • The candidates enrolled under this scheme shall have to attend all the classes. In case of remaining absent for more than 15 days without any valid reason, or leaving the coaching midway without prior approval of the competent authority, the total expenditure incurred on the candidate will be recovered from the University/Students/candidate concerned. University shall be responsible for the recovery.
  • A total of hundred seats (100) sanctioned for coaching per Centre 33% of the total sanctioned seats for coaching may preferable be given to the eligible female candidates of SC category. The percentage of SC students shall not be less than 70% . In case of non-availability of adequate number of candidates in the SC category, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment can relax this ratio.However, in no case; less than 50% SC students shall be permitted. Also under each category, 30% of the slots shall be reserved for female candidates. In case sufficient numbers of female candidates are not available under any category, male candidates from the same category shall be considered by the Ministry. University widely publicizes this scheme through open advertisement and make a public notice for a Common Entrance Test (CET) for the admission in DACE. The students are selected through an entrance test, interviews conducted by the University as per merit.
  • The University maintains Attendance Registers for all candidates enrolled for the coaching classes as well as subject-wise result of practice tests, or any other evaluation.
  • Benefits of the DACE Scheme

  • Students will receive Stipend @ Rs.4000 (four thousand only) per month for full duration of the course not exceeding 12 months.
  • Rs. 15000 (Fifteen thousand only) as incentive to the successful students for coaching for interview for all the students clearing the main stage of Central Civil Services/State Civil Services Exams for class 1 and class 2 posts.

  •  Common Entrance Test 2022 held on 14-08-2022 & 2023-2024 held on common Entrance Test -2024.
  •  Inauguration of Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE) on 1st October 2022 by Shri Asim Arun Hon’ble Minister of State, Social welfare of Schedule caste & Tribal Affairs, Uttar Pradesh Government.
  •  DACE classes was inaugurated by Shri Tufani Singh, Member UP State Scheduled Caste Commission on 14th October 2022.
  •  Special Lecture by Shri Babu Ram, IAS (Rtd.) & Prof. Kalicharan Snehi Lucknow university on 14-04-2023 (Ambedkar Jayanti)
  • Facilities:-

    DACE library is running in the RCA library where around 3000 Books are available. The latest edition of Competitive Books for UPSC is procured. Magazines & News Papers are available. DACE students have access to the Central Library of BBAU Where students have facility to study in the Reading Hall that Opens 24X7 hours. Students are provided high speed Wi-Fi facility.
